On an hourly basis I face an intense interrogation at the hand of my 2 1/2 year old daughter. She needs details and she is very demanding. The following is an excerpt from a recent walk:

A man rides by on a bicycle

Mommy, is that Daddy?

No.

Well, where is Daddy?

He is at home.

What is he doin’ at home?

Sleeping.

Why is he sleeping?

Because he worked all night.

Why does he have to work all night?

To help people who are in trouble and to make money.

How do you make money?

By going to work.

And you make money there?

Yes.

Green or gray money?

Hopefully green.

What else is green?

Grass is green.

Why is it green?

Beacause of chlorophyll I think.

Huh?

Chlorophyll.

Oh.

Well, where is he going?

Where is who going?

That man on the bike.

Sigh.
